Crippled from Kindness

good vibes
a smile says it all
vibration of laughter
moody inner quality
display of amusement
an expression of mirth
worth the moments we share
comfort for the loneliness
within a hollowness
found in all souls
precious gifts of kindness
a familiar comfort
brings human things
brings personal truths
to make full of that emptiness
remembering our youth
the many lives of our lifetime
the strangers we've been
to the cities and towns
places in our minds
remembering who we were
crowded & ghostly
streets & alley ways
old haunts where people meet
where the spirits linger
where everybody knows your name
now it's new friends to make
to listen to and share
things we find that are true
I love true things
not so much the fun of opinion
it's the truth I love
like what Steinbeck describes
of Doc in Cannery Row
I see him in people I know
his characters are real
and I can understand the relation
I am thankful
to the friends I do receive
bestowed upon by fate
the same feeling I get
when I hear a good song

Bob Dylan Bootleg

Although, I saw dylan twice in 95' with the Grateful Dead the year Jerry died, this was my first dylan show and I remember it well. I just transferred this from cassette tape tonight. This show was very special to me because, of the close friends that went with me. At the time I was really into John Wesley Harding and dylan opened the show with Drifter's Escape. I took it as a sign that dylan was thinking about **Jerry**. Seeing dylan was like a religious experience. I was very young and it felt like he was singing strait to me. I remember the peaceful feeling I had when Mr. Tambourine Man came on and how I laid on the ground and just looked up at the stars. I was hooked. This will be on mixcloud soon so you can join me on this trip upon this magic-swirling-ship. Enjoy!

  1. Bob Dylan- **Drifter's Escape**
  2. Bob Dylan- The Man In Me
  3. Bob Dylan- All Along The Watchtower

Is That Dylan In The Mirror?

The Best of Chimes of Freedom

Chimes of Freedom is a box set that just came out of Dylan covers. 75 songs of some of Dylan's best songs. Sometimes a great song can stand no matter who does it. I have to admit there are some very bad covers on it but, it's worth it for the best ones. I have been waiting for a long time for a good cover of One More Cup of Coffee and Steve Earle delivers. So making a slimmed down to one disc version could be a great way to discover this box set. Enjoy!

My dear friend djtrish sent me a package today. I got her thrill of music in the mail. These music thrills keeps trish putting mixes in the mail. I used to be like that for a long time till things changed and now I am always listening & digesting music. Mixing for trish is always fun. I have a kindred spirit with trish. We both love making mixes, we both have distinct styles & tastes & we both spend a lot of time listening to music. She draws funny cartoons and since she got a camera for trishmas she makes great movies of her world. Other People's Cigarettes

I want to make you laugh
tell you a joke or a funny pantomime
in exchange for your smoke
a profound definition in a rhyme
about how the meaning of truth is an action
the act of conformity to fact
on taking other people's cigarettes
but, it's this 5 cent jones, in my bones
keeps me from thinkin' clear
nothing to occupy my mind
while I contemplate truth
thoroughly & thoughtfully considering
the bad feelings that come from bummin'
or dumbin' down my self-worth
smoking is living beyond my means
I don't like to dogged around
poverty sucks
at least I know if freedom can't be obtained
I have my day dreams on a warm January day
now it's my conscience & regrets
the guilty emptiness that comes from
other people's cigarettes
the truth that comes from quitting
to just give it up
I just want to belong
I wish I knew how to be strong
I wish I knew how to tell myself
smoking is wrong
even when I think it makes me happy
sympathetic sadness when I reflect
on taking other people's cigarettes
no think
no smoke

Sitting In Therapy- November 8,2011

it relieves tension
talking about my thinking
adjusting the extension of my thoughts
talking,making the connections
how I am feeling,how I am living
some one who is listening and interjecting
some one who is getting what I am giving
talking about my thinking
sitting in therapy
I am feeling so good
some one is listening
all I need to feel
to be understood for real
getting something back
is mostly what I lack
listening to input
concerning the positive
human interaction
to hear clear
and contribute to
things that are true
understanding
knowledge of self
the magic that happens with some one else
now when I listen
in touch with my mental health
I am growing with the spirit of self
yes,the human spirit
powerful
and I've been blessed
I've been so many people
I have to tell the truth
a painter
a loner
a poet
a mix-maker
a loser
a prophet
6 years on this journey
I was really sick
I faced it
I didn't like what I see
plenty of changes about me
time has told me
there are many things to be
I like what I see
me in this light
shone bright in the dark of night
me in this light
now,I can be proud of my change
there are many ways to live
busy being free
talking about my thinking
sitting in therapy
thinking about sitting in therapy
biding my time,enjoying the clarity
lucidity of perception
that is so important
I am starting to recover
I am a sight for sore eyes
I saw the light today
finally feel right today
I have a purpose
out in the light of day
being me
being free
in therapy

True Happiness

pain is a teacher and it's well understood
the hollow emptiness don't do no one no good
the winds of change lay heavy on your soul
letting yourself be when it's out of your control
helps me feel what I call true happiness
with satisfaction comes happiness
with contentment I reach a goal
happiness is a feeling of thoughts
my life is not all about what makes me happy
I have to sacrifice my wants from my needs
differ from that state of consciousness & vague awareness
knowing a person who comprehends me
helps me feel what I call true happiness
people in my life, the chances I take
the unobstructed openness of my talk
the freedom of my thoughts gets into my walk
my statements of opinions
I love true things that experience brings
and conclusions are drawn on the coffee shop walls
learning to listen to everyday people
folksy wisdom, genuine people & neighborly interaction
celebrating learning, sharing knowledge & personal truths
the human things that make up who we are
true authentic character of a good person
helps me feel what I call true happiness
people that I hold in high personal regard
people to be on good terms with
people that care about other people
to have a friend is to be a friend
caring human beings make me feel at ease
it helps me feel what I call true happiness

The Devil Is Afraid of Music

many words have been said
many words have been heard
it's absurd to play tricks with words
the whole act of conformity with fact
understanding the devil
what and who he attracts
disorder,upheaval & chaos
with a physical force he does attack
confusion with acts you can't take back
mentally disturbed by the words
you hear yourself say and think
the devil loves it when you drink
and the idleness when you feel no real worth
to anyone or anything and the space between
who you are and other human beings
yes, it's human things & the songs we sing
belonging to a song
the greatest trick the devil ever played
to get you to think he is not real and you not afraid
the clearness I see when people don't speak to me
or have any respect for humanity
or a sense of the worth
the fact that you are there
we were born to be loved
so sing,to the joys of harmonizing
so cling,to music so hypnotizing
music sooths the soul
keeping the devil under control
