Personal Truths

today, is a new day
with this day comes a chance
preserve the optimism towards others
a better time to enhance
with the oneness of truth
shuffle around for a better stance
the characters of true things
let us share our personal truths
each one, teach one
the things we hold to be true
our hold, our versions
how we relate to facts
the grasp for honesty
without a need to be proud
seeking the comfort of true things
awareness to seek
consciousness to find
learning from time
the world, the picture
inside you and me
spirit & soul
soul & spirit
spirit & soul
the best is yet to come...

My Mind's Mirror

I caught myself looking at my past
glimpse of my appearance of my minds mirror
the reflection is my perception
the image was true but, it doesn't last
wandering through my imagination
carousel of flowing images
I never used my mental facilities
performed mental powers before
not like these days imagination is a tool
like the dictionary is a tool
contemplating the written poem
like the words are exciting pleasure
great missing pieces of the puzzle
my mind sound unto the void
color pictures of places
distraught focus unto starkness
like a early photograph in a tray of water
blooming into a grand and familiar page
taking a picture in a mirror
developing a thought
inkling of myself
to cast back

Unconscious Women (Contagious Friendliness)

a walmart tatoo
seeing what others see
unsure of what to be
thinking what others think
doing all things easy
leaving problems unsolved
always with the need to be free
not endowed with mental faculties
without an identity
condition of self
womanliness thinks pink
easy to criticize of confused
I risk being mean
I know these women well
I have a continuous hurt
I have a personal truth
pain has dulled my flame
it still gives off light
contagious friendliness
taught my heart contentment
satisfied to be a good friend
time has told me
all I ever wanted was a good friend
a friend is conscious woman
like a child's mind
children understand friendship
I love my friends
I love women
I love poetry

People Used To

People used to get together round a fire
Fishes were cooked, songs were sung
Moonlight used to guide our way home in the dark
Do you find it hard remembering?

And still you people tell me life is easy to get on with
But what I've got so far's enough to get along with
People tell me that it's so oh - oh
I don't know anymore, I don't know

People used to get together round a problem
Eyes were looked at tongues were true
People used to stop and say how do you do
Do you find it hard remembering?

And still you people tell me life is easy to get on with
But what I've got so far's enough to get along with
People tell me that it's so oh - oh
I don't know anymore, I don't know

People used to spend an hour making tea
Easy easy was the rule
People used to pause to think and contemplate
He who hurried was the fool

And still you people tell me life is easy to get on with
But what I've got so far's enough to get along with
People tell me that it's so oh - oh
I don't know anymore, I don't know

Now, I'm Working For The Weekend

Workingman's Dead

I have been out of work for 6 years. Today, I found out I got a job working for the county. The first thing I did was listen to Workingman's Dead! Hanover Recycling is a plant that recycles paper & computers. I took a tour last month. It is a process going through my caseworker & available position coming open. I will be among other people with disabilities and they will work with my skills. I have only had dead-end jobs in my life. So I have been blessed with this fine opportunity and I am pleased. So this mix is a celebration. Now, I'm Working For The Weekend. Enjoy!

Conceit

1.
an excessively favorable opinion of one's own ability, importance, wit, etc.
2.
something that is conceived in the mind; a thought; idea: He jotted down the conceits of his idle hours.
3.
imagination; fancy.
4.
a fancy; whim; fanciful notion.
5.
an elaborate, fanciful metaphor, especially of a strained or far-fetched nature.

Disease Of Conceit

There’s a whole lot of people suffering tonight
From the disease of conceit
Whole lot of people struggling tonight
From the disease of conceit
Comes right down the highway
Straight down the line
Rips into your senses
Through your body and your mind
Nothing about it that’s sweet
The disease of conceit

There’s a whole lot of hearts breaking tonight
From the disease of conceit
Whole lot of hearts shaking tonight
From the disease of conceit
Steps into your room
Eats your soul
Over your senses
You have no control
Ain’t nothing too discreet
About the disease of conceit

There’s a whole lot of people dying tonight
From the disease of conceit
Whole lot of people crying tonight
From the disease of conceit
Comes right out of nowhere
And you’re down for the count
From the outside world
The pressure will mount
Turn you into a piece of meat
The disease of conceit

Conceit is a disease
That the doctors got no cure
They’ve done a lot of research on it
But what it is, they’re still not sure

There’s a whole lot of people in trouble tonight
From the disease of conceit
Whole lot of people seeing double tonight
From the disease of conceit
Give ya delusions of grandeur
And a evil eye
Give you the idea that
You’re too good to die
Then they bury you from your head to your feet
From the disease of conceit

Nag Champa In Winter

sometimes I take a walk
it's cold in January
winter is blue with gray skies
I often wonder if I will make it through
I have to think
about the things I will say to you
people are like the weather
it's but, for feelings that change
people are not like the weather
pitiful but, capable for compassion
virginia in January
it's the wind and rain
motivating us to complain
drinking tea on the patio
smoking & incense
to enhance a mood
showing people
allowing myself
to be me
