Shame'inistic Conversion (for Joni Mitchell)

feelings of shame and guilt, both run deep
sitting alone today waiting for my tea to steep
thinking about the people in my life, people I know
preserving the optimism, what it takes to grow, together
yes, togetherness is a condition I long to feel

I am a picture of shame and guilt, both run deep
burning images, so shall I sow, so shall I reap
the houses on fire, the person I am, the lies I told, the things I did
I was a liar, truth has been teacher, without truth I once lived
the many lives of my lifetime make up the pictures of me

memories of shame and guilt, both run deep
trouble from a deceiving heart makes me weep
with these sad sullen tears, memories fade with every year
I now have accepted myself, taught myself, how to live in comfort
comfort comes from knowing myself, an important part of my mental health

mirror reflections of shame and guilt, both run deep
my rest is a test, time has helped me get a good night's sleep
deconstructing nightmare's in a round about way
consciousness of the people I love gets me through the day
in a life full of mirrors, I am proud of what I see, a testament to resiliency

Texas Hobart- Hill Billie Blues Speak (Uncle Davy Macon Cover)

HILL BILLIE BLUES
Uncle Dave Macon Vo 5051

I am Billie and I live in the hills,
I can whistle and sing like a Whippoorwill,
Come across the mountain, just down in the holler,
To see my little Dony, just as sweet as she can waller.

Chorus: Oh, tell me how long, must I wait?
Lord, I get you now, or Lord I hesitate.

Hello sig, what's the matter with the line,
I can't talk to that girl of mine,
Storm last night blew all the poles down,
I can't talk to my Saro Brown. Chorus

As long as a-bacon is thirty cents a pound,
I'm going to eat a rabbit if I have to run him down,
Ice cream cone, T-bone steak,
You want to win a women get a Cadillac eight. Chorus

I been in the city and I been in the town,
I been in the mountains with the blues falling down,
Jumped in the river and I thought I would drown,
I spied a red-headed woman and I couldn't go down. Chorus

Whiskey, whiskey, I'm going to let you be,
The bone dry law made a Christian out of me,
Going to Oklahoma to marry me a squaw,
I'll have a big chief for a daddy-in-law. Chorus

Got water in the ocean, there's water in the sea,
Since I'm bone dry, its been water for me,
Been on the Southern, the Seaboard too,
It takes a Henry Ford for to shake me and you. Chorus

Oh, me and my partner, we both went to bed,
The jug of white lightning right under my head,
When I woke up the stopper was pulled,
My jug it was empty, but my partner was full.

Those Poor Jews(God's People)

I Have A Conscience

This is a mix about white people. How some have no guilt & benignly have no conscience about the way the people before them came into
power, maintained it, at the expense of the other races around them. Civilization has never been brought to another place
or people because, it is the art of being civil. I recently watched a PBS doc called The Jewish People : a story of survival.
A journalist traces the history of the Jewish people, explaining how this vibrant culture has thrived despite thousands of years of oppression.
And the Jews just wanted to live for God in peace. Watching this doc really made me see the truth about Christianity.
Questioning my faith is something I always do. Seeing what god's people had to go through made me understand the power
of god. If it's good enough for the hebrew children it's good enough for me.

As I, Simply Drink My Tea

let the tea steep as you light the day's first cigarette
a cup of joy, cup of awake, cup of calm, cups of zen
the art of conversation learning where you begin and I end
respect is a form of love in the bigger picture not to neglect
listening to others as I simply drink my tea
up to me to contemplate the meaning of free

knowing human nature is a legacy handed down from the past
insight into underlying truth and awareness to share before you pass
clear and certain with with ideas of apprehension, to see the strife
I am the actual essence of inward nature of the philosophy of life
listening to others as I simply drink my tea
up to me to contemplate the meaning of free

the mentally ill may take pills but, it's hard to know what is real
I am not like everyone else with empty spaces and time to think
when I think of how tenderhearted I am and how I feel
going off into that dream place with empty spaces and time to think
listening to others as I simply drink my tea
up to me to contemplate the meaning of free

Yes, it's up to me to contemplate the meaning of free
not every one takes the time to see what I see
inbetween spaces of you and me
there is no one like us so I will let myself be
listening to others as I simply drink my tea
up to me to contemplate the meaning of free

Tenderhearted Me

Mixing for Myself

I thought about all the mixes I made for others. Now to sit and really listen to songs I have picked for myself is refreshing. Life is so hard for me sometimes. That might sound weak but, I am resilient as hell. I asked myself today if I was happy. A question deserving the truth and I said yes. I'm defying gravity most of the time meaning I am comfortable with myself. I could really use a woman's touch in my life. I will get everything I need in due time.
