The Days of Auld Lang Syne

I know where I begin
I know where I end
brought to light
auld acquaintance
old friends
these holidays left me
broke,lonesome & blue
I'm okay as long as I can see you
the wind of my soul told me
to keep it in your mind and not forget
christmas is over
it's new year's,we are apart of it
so cheers and toast to
the days of auld lang syne
bring in anew
the days of auld lang syne
bring in anew
the days of auld lang syne

when I was weeping
thinking of our new year's kiss
that traditional feeling of bliss
it wasn't a white christmas
stuck between a memory & dream
everyone have memories of christmas
let down,it's a white thing
a white christmas for white people
chasings the old-time christmas theme
a poorly thought-out fantasy
of the song's collective scheme
to appeal to nostalgia
the upper middle-class Bing
so cheers and toast to
the days of auld lang syne
bring in anew
the days of auld lang syne
bring in anew
the days of auld lang syne

watching the folks
as I sip hot coffee
milling around the coffee shop
songs of joy and peace
plays in the undertone
small talk makes me feel less alone
most are looking at their cell phone
I watch & listen to what's going on
I am alone on my own
then back for some more home
the sidewalks,cars & signs
walking to leave behind
thinking about freedom
thoughtful of my own time
my life is a passing season
the band playing my head
should auld acquaintance
be forgot & never brought to mind
this is how I fill up my time
so cheers and toast to
the days of auld lang syne
bring in anew
the days of auld lang syne
bring in anew
the days of auld lang syne
