I wrote Temporary Hobo Bard to express my love for the hobos, squatter crusty punks & bums I used to drink with when I lived in the city. My love for folk music was shared with these young folks coming in from the train yards from all over. Writing was not that important back then. Temporary Hobo Bard was my first poem written in my modern existence. It has a special place in my little heart. Now days I wish I could write something as fresh. My writing is changing but,so is everything.
As for this mix I dedicated it to my trusty mix-making partner Rust Belt Jessie. She is a mom now. I don't want to bother her with my wants to continue our Hobo Tales. I took all the Hobo Tales and picked all my favorites so this was made without her. She has made me a happy mix maker. Even before I met her I've been making Hobo Tales for years. Jessie never let me down with any of her picks. I am a lonely man. The kindness she has showed me is very valuable. I will always look back on these times and Hobo Tales with fond memories. Enjoy!
Temporary Hobo Bard
She hung her pretty head and cried
Just because I can hopped a old freight train
Popped the can, churched keyed the back and
opened it up wide.
Brand new Carhartt overalls, patches in my memories
Work clothes but, work I can't abide
It's the first of may on this hazy winter's day
Go far far way...disappeared...
Especially,to all of y'all
Determining mentally upon some action...
Out shakin' hands looking for a place to lay
Drinkin' and stinkin'
All good times I crave
Hand me down my banjo one more time
Way down on old chestnut street
...Jägermeister...
Stagger and stepped, lost my way
Who Threw The Whiskey In The Well
by: Lucky Millinder And His Orchestra
played in the background
She drank and her nose was red as a rose...
Like one of the ghost in Ironweed
Street walkers trot &mingle like company suppose to do
...shuckin' & jivin'...
Playin' for nickels & dimes,it's a hard road.
Playin' by ear beneath the piano
It's better to have a bottle in front of me...
Another hand out,it's effective for a time only
