What is America means to Me- July, 4 2012

a cough from an American Spirit

the wonderment of the time spent,
without the worry of paying the rent,
it's not heaven sent but,
a reward for being a disabled American

oh to be a young american, in love, in summertime
when writing about this theme, a common man's
american dream
I wonder about the poor people in my country
the true emotion of poverty
the feelings of isolation
it's my duty to understand first hand
with this understanding I reveal the meaning
of an American
I am poor like most of my fellow countrymen
I stand in their place every night
I am not alone in my poverty
I am not alone in this picture inside you and me
in this picture we see a portrait of us americans
in this art, in this beauty,
uncommon fillied with a peaceful nature
I seek, I find, a home on this 4th of July
to belong, to live strong

let me speak on god
god & country
country & god
soo many americans think these things go together
this connection seems to come with age
older americans have had more time
to wonder with empty spaces in mind & thoughts
that lonesomeness from god
that lonesomeness of self
the needy spaces between
salvation & sin
saved from themselves

I need my space to read, write & smoke
this is my rights as an american
I have made my travels around my neighborhood today
all the while thinking, contemplating the meaning of free
have I lived up to the meaning of freedom?
comes the burdon of freedom, if it's my right
What Are Rights?
exercising my needs to read, write & smoke
free to need
co-dependence
one of my short comings
free is something to be
america is personal
God is personal
truth is personal
