Alabaster Heart

old love letters make
the young man made old
a finely granular variety of gypsum
rhythmically blood circulates
often white and translucent
objects in motion
oxygenated blood
tend to cling and hang on
I remember loving you
she foolishly thought of me in that way
ghost in my head
the way she made me feel
like a missing piece
I'm not so proud anymore
particles of my eternal dusty memory
plagued by various forms of psychosis
old feelings pour in
hopes won't make me innocent
jesus christ,
pain floods the center of the total personality
my smile,my laugh
don't greet the strangers at your door
don't live among the heartless...
