Work Can Set Me Free
By: George Waldrop
I made up my mind to be happy
my life upon the merry-go-round
work is not only about me
find the beauty in every tree
work can set me free
work can desensitize, take your mind
make you blind so it's hard to see
work is not only about me
find the beauty in every tree
work can set me free
this freedom is not the pride I take away
this freedom is not the money I made today
it's knowing the job I did, done the right way
completing each task at hand with my fellow man
I'm proud to say, "thank you for recycling"
to the customers I greet when I'm out on the truck
sometimes I need to send out good vibes
to let everyone know I'm blessed to be alive
work is not only about me
find the beauty in every tree
work can set me free
I rely on that happy humble feeling inside
the one that lets me feel alive, that happy humble feeling
work is not only about me
find the beauty in every tree
work can set me free
these days are short but hours are long
I know in my heart this is where I belong
work is not only about me
find the beauty in every tree
work can set me free
I made up my mind to be happy
my life upon the merry-go-round
work is not only about me
find the beauty in every tree
work can set me free
